Lamu bus attacked as gunmen unsuccessfully ambush convoy in Nyongoro area

Description

A bus belonging to Mombasa Raha company was attacked by armed gunmen and who sprayed it with bullets in Nyangoro area. The incident happened when the bus that was part of a convoy from Mombas to Lamu was order to stop by the armed gunmen. The bus driver defied the order leading to the gunmen opening fire on the speeding bus. During the gunfire, the bus's right wheel was damaged while three passenger's killed. Two others were injured and rushed to Garsen and Witu for treatment. A multiagency security team has been deployed to flash out the gunmen who are believed to be affiliated with the Al shabaab group.
