Tension High as border conflict escalates between Tana River and Kitui Counties

Description

Reports indicate that the border conflict between Tana River and Kitui County escalated after officials from Tana River County led by the Deputy Sub County Administrator and local askaris were arrested by County enforcement officials from Kitui in Nyali sub location. This was as a result of the Tana River Officials responding to demolitions of houses conducted in the area A day before allegedly by law enforcement agencies from Kitui County.

The Tana River officials spent two days at the Kitui police stations and were released on bond by the Court. They were accused of trespassing in Kitui County. The Court Case is still ongoing
