Fire arms recovered as police pursue criminals in Matuga, Kwale County.

Description

Security officials from Diani Police station who were acting on intelligence report confronted a group of 6 armed men with rifles hiding in a thicket 4km west of the station. The men who defied the officers' orders to surrender scattered and vanished into different directions causing the officers to open fire. No injuries were report during the shooting however the officers managed to recover 2 AK rifles , 73 rounds of ammunition two knives and two motorcycles. Assorted clothing belonging to the suspects was also recovered. It is suspected that the men were preparing to commit a felony. No arrests have been made so far however patrols in the area have been intensified.
