Rival gangs clash at Nyali beach in Mombasa County

Description

Two rival youth gangs are reported to have engaged in violent confrontation this morning at Nyali public Beach. It is alleged that the two groups, identified to be from Kisauni and Kongowea areas, clashed owing to a supremacy battle at the beach. The youth were reported to have used knives and other crude weapons during the incident however police officers from Nyali police acted swiftly to disperse the groups. No arrests were made although security has been beefed up in the area.
This incident occurred in the wee hours of the day amid rising concerns of the rising number of youth visiting the beaches in the morning for physical exercises.
