Buildings and other properties destroyed following demolitions in Mtopanga area.

Description

Residents of Mtopanga area in Nyali Constituency have woken up to counting losses following the demolition of their properties in a contested parcel of land. The properties, including business premises and make shift homesteads were demolished after an eviction notice was issued by the courts 2 months ago. The piece of land is said to be the private property of one Abdulkadir, with the victims of the demolitions faulted for grabbing the land. 23 people were affected by the demolitions with properties estimated to be valued at hundreds of thousands destroyed.
